SECTION 2 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission the information by using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and with an AES 256 with a key size of 256 bits.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards. However, keep in mind that WE DO NOT STORE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON OUR SERVERS. This information is handled by our secure payment processors, Stripe, Inc. and PayPal, Inc. and it can be saved for further use only on your request, at checkout. We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

We highly recommend you to create and use a strong password (normally composed of at least 8 digits and combining letters, numbers, caps and special characters). It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

 

SECTION 3 – WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY

Information you give us

You provide most such information when you search for a product; place an order through flexxslate.com; register information in My Account; communicate with us by phone, e-mail, or otherwise; provide and rate reviews; etc. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your name, address, and phone numbers; credit card information; people to whom purchases have been shipped, including addresses and phone number; people (with addresses and phone numbers); e-mail addresses of your friends and other people; content of reviews and e-mails to us.

On our online store

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. While you visit our online store, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order
  • We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

Contact forms

When you use our contact form you are required to enter your name and email address. We will only use that information in order to reply to your inquiries. We’ll not send you unsolicited advertising, news or promotions.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize your device and to provide different features.

We may use browser data such as cookies, Flash cookies (also known as Flash Local Shared Objects), or similar data on certain parts of our Web site for fraud prevention and other purposes. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

To provide website visitors with the ability to prevent their data from being used by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Google Analytics opt out browser add-on for the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, dc.js).

My Account registration and use

My Account registration is an optional service provided by our website. You do not have to register to browse or shop online. When you register, you are asked for personal information such as your name, address, phone number, email address, and a username and password that you select. This information may be used to help make your online shopping quicker and easier, by pre-filling certain parts of your shopping information, as well as let our system identify customers who are entitled for special (like professional) discounts and apply them.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Comments

Only registered customers who have purchased any of our products can leave comments and ratings on our website.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Media

If you upload images to the website or send over to us, you should avoid provideng images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Information from Other Sources

Examples of information we receive from other sources include updated delivery and address information from our carriers or other third parties, which we use to correct our records and deliver your next purchase or communication more easily.

 

SECTION 4 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep your personal information private and secure. Our secure servers protect your information using advanced algorithms and firewall technology. When you make a purchase from our site, you provide your name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number and, for registered customers, a password. We use this information to process your orders, to keep you updated on your orders and to personalize your shopping experience. We do not sell or share your personal information with anyone else (except for the companies mentioned in the text of this privacy policy), for commercial purposes.

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail,  analyzing data, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

Who on our team has access to your information?

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

 

SECTION 5 – CONSENT

Flexx Slate Ltd. Co. does not sell products for purchase by children. By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to register an account, fill out a contact form, complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If, after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may ask to withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by filling the form you can find on our “Contact Us” page.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We may release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Flexx Slate Ltd. In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy stores, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Notice (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). Also, in the event that Flexx Slate Ltd. Co., or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.
